Dr. Adam Schembri

My research and teaching experience has also encompassed a number of areas in sign language linguistics, including work on aspects of the lexicon, grammar and sociolinguistics of Australian Sign Language (Auslan). I have written an introductory text on the linguistics of Auslan entitled 'Australian Sign Language: An introduction to sign language linguistics', co-authored with Trevor Johnston (published by Cambridge University Press in 2007). You can order the book here.
At DCAL, I am a senior research fellow and project director for the British Sign Language Corpus Project. You can find out more about me and the work I do on my personal web site.
